Pains Wessex EPIRB Rescue 406 MHz CAT II

Using state-of-the-art electronics and a 3 cell Lithium battery, the McMurdo E3 and Pains Wessex Rescue 406 MHz EPIRBs combine the strength and durability required for a fully compliant GMDSS EPIRB with modern compact styling. The result is a fully featured EPIRB with a small mounting footprint. The E3/Rescue is a third generation satellite distress beacon designed to operate in conjunction with the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite search and rescue system. This system locates beacons transmitting on the 406 MHz frequency to within 5km (3nm). Once Search and Rescue (SAR) units are at the distress scene the beacon's 121.5MHz homing transmitter and its high intensity xenon strobe light aid final location even in poor visibility.
